I am standing with Rosie Batty in support of the recommendations from Luke’s Coronial Inquest.
The inquest recommendations provide an urgent roadmap for transforming the safety, justice and survival of children and women enduring family violence and for perpetrator accountability.
They will deeply impact almost every part of our family violence system – from police, child protection, perpetrator accountability, risk assessment, family law, courts, specialist family violence services, law reform and most of all the safety of children like Luke.
Luke’s recommendations also carry enormous national resonance. If they’re acted upon in Victoria this would provide a model of effectiveness for other state and territory reforms.
I am standing with Rosie in memory of Luke and every victim of family violence and I ask the Victorian Parliament to accept and deliver the recommendations in full.
